World’s Youngest Microsoft Programmer Dies at 16

The world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional died at the age of 16. Arfa Karim Randhawa was the computer programming prodigy who became a professional programmer at 9 years old.

Prior to her death, Arfa had been hospitalized for about a month in her native country, Pakistan, because she had been suffering from epileptic seizures and cardiac arrest. It was reported that two weeks ago, her condition somewhat improved. Microsoft even helped in providing expert medical care for her. However, she did not survive.

When she was 10 years old, Arfa was interviewed by Todd Bishop of Geek Wire and this is what she told him, “If you want to do something big in your life, you must remember that shyness is only the mind. If you think shy, you act shy. If you think confident you act confident. Therefore never let shyness conquer your mind.”

Her death is really one big loss of talent in the world of programming. Our condolences to the family of Arfa Karim Randhawa.
